About Our Teachers
Maria Houliaras
Maria started Greek dancing in 1976 at the young age of 5 and it has become her passion ever since.
She studied under renowned Greek Dancing teacher Sophia Haskas and had progressed through years of dancing.
Maria started assisting Mrs Sophia Haskas teach Greek Dancing in 1986, and had performed for many years at many Greek Dancing events and Performances.
She also teaches Greek dancing at St Spyridon College.
Maria brings with her many years of experience in Greek dance, Music and also Greek costume design, having attained a certificate in Fashion Design.
Dimitri Houliaras
Dimitri started Greek dancing at the age of 12 and has performed at many Greek Events all over Australia.
He is Maria’s eldest son and has been surrounded by Greek dancing, Music, traditions and customs his whole life.
Dimitri started teaching our Beginners group in 2017 and since then has commenced Co teaching adult classes on Wednesdays at the Mytilenian House.
Dimitri offers private Greek dancing lessons teaching dances from all parts of Greece, including Zembekiko.
